Solo and Ensemble Contest -- Audition Information and More

The 2nd Nine Weeks Summative Singing Test will also serve as the audition for the Select Class Ensemble for ISSMA Solo & Ensemble Contest.  Each choir class will have a 20 person ensemble that will perform at S & E Contest on January 28, 2017 at Doe Creek Middle School.  Full details can be found here.

Circle the State with Song Results

Congratulations!!  Please click here to see the list of singers who were selected for Circle the State with Song.  Over 110 singers auditioned and our choices were very difficult.  Please congratulate those who were selected.  Current 6th and 7th graders -- please audition again next year!!

CSWS participants and those selected to make an Honor Choir submission will receive more information on Monday, 9/19 and Tuesday, 9/20.

Auditions for CSWS and Honor Choir will be held during class time on Thursday, 9/8 and Friday, 9/9. Click here for all the details.

Rhythm Quiz 8/30 (Blue Day) and 8/31 (White Day)

All choir classes will have a Rhythm Quiz on 8/30 (Blue Day) and 8/31 (White Day).  The study guide can be found here.  Each choir class will have five days of instruction/practice before the day of the quiz.

On 8/26 (Blue Day ) and 8/29 (White Day), students may bring a cell phone or other electronic device (BYOD) so that we can play a "Kahoot!" review game.  If students don't have  a device to bring or they're not allowed to bring it to school, that's fine.

Kings Island Specifics -- Saturday, May 14th

Schedule for the Day

·         6:30 AM – directors and parents chaperons meet in their respective locations – choir in cafeteria, band in main gym, and orchestra in auxiliary gym

·         7:00 AM – ALL meet promptly at 7:00 AM for the meeting

·         7:30-7:45 AM – board buses and leave for Kings Island

·         9:45 AM – arrive at Kings Island; receive your ticket as you disembark

·         10:00 AM – park opens; enter the park and have fun!

·         2:30 PM – check in #1 at Eifel Tower

·         7:30 PM – check in #2 at entrance of park in front of fountain

·         7:45 PM – buses leave Kings Island

·         10:00 PM – Return to the FTMS East

o   Return to East and disembark from buses on both sides of the building.  Please establish a meeting place ahead of time.

Spring Concert Information Sheets

The Spring Choral Concert is Tuesday, May 3rd.  The 6th Grade Girls Choir, 6th Grade Boys Choir and 7th Grade Girls Choir will perform at the 6 PM concert.  Please click here for the full details.

CONGRATULATIONS to the 7th Grade Girls Choir, the 7th Grade Mixed Choir, the 8th Grade Girls Choir, the 8th Grade Mixed Choir and the 1 White Ensemble for earning GOLD at the ISSMA Organizational Contest on March 12, 2016.

Additionally, the 7th Grade Girls Choir and 8th Grade Mixed Choir earned "Gold with Distinction," the highest honor given by ISSMA.  Great job to all!!!!  Mrs. Clifford and Ms. Barnett are very proud of you!
